The international Fario Club

After having taken part during 20 years in the development of the famous Parabolic flyrods with Pezon and Michel, Charles Ritz, with the help of some friends, has founded between 1958 and 1960 "Plaisirs de la Pêche" magazine, the association of protection of water and rivers "Truite Ombre Saumon" and a club gathering up to 80 flyfishermen met throughout the world, the International Fario Club .

The magazine "Plaisirs de la Peche" still exists today, published 6 times a year.

The Association Truite Ombres Saumon has changed its name to ANPER National Association of Protection of Water and Rivers, it publishes a bulletin four times a year.

The International Fario Club meeting takes place once a year at the Tir aux Pigeons and reviews the flyfishing tackle innovations during a friendly casting tournament followed by a haute cuisine lunch.

After Charles Ritz's death in July 1976, none the members of Fario Club continued these friendly meetings.

20 years later, the club is re-generated by Mrs Charles Ritz, former members and their children, as Mr Christian Vernes, Mr George Beall, Baron Jean Le Clère, Mr Louis Dufay, Mr Claude Batault, and enthusiasts Me Jean François Giron, Dr Eric Hallberg and Mr Laurent Sainsot.

Today the club organizes every year the Trophy Charles Ritz at the Tir aux Pigeons - Paris, the Charles Ritz Conservation Award, gathers a fishing tackle collection of antiques as the first fixed spool reel of the Viscount H.de France or the prototype of the first Parabolic rod, as well as an extensive library of flyfishing books.

La Risle in Aclou

After having fished the Risle at Aclou for several years, the club has rented 3km beats on the Charentonne.
